Blah-Blah-Blah

Did you hear Sarah Palin praise George W for, in essence, bin Laden’s demise? Yep. She did. In public. In front of a microphone. Blah-blah-blah.

As expected, no one in the GOP is willing to let President Obama have most of the credit – for more than a moment – before bringing up “Bush.” As written in an earlier post, if this trash talk continues, then let me continue to remind one and all that I and others will gladly bring up “Bush” and his former gang of Cheney and Rumsfeld’s itchy trigger fingers, awkward decisions, starting the “wrong war” (as if any war is “right”), and thus killing our economy and thousands of people out of revenge and greed.

“Go Bush! Go USA!” Yes. Go Away! And, to his credit, George W has done so. Same with Rumsfeld when he didn’t have a book to promote (as did Bush for a second), and if Cheney weren’t in ill health, we’d be hearing much more from him than we have in months.

Heaven forbid that the two main political parties have a bit of high-fiving together as if we are all living in the same country and purportedly after the same enemies and have common interests to protect our country! Aren’t true patriots supposed to be genuinely happy when their country pulls-off a major accomplishment?

Oh well. Oh hell. ‘Tis the way it is and the old horse of partisan politics will continue to kick each time a new saddle is placed on its already bent back.

Aside from the nattering noise of the naysayers re: who really is the hero in the battle, on the other subject bandied-about by politicians and pundits, it is stupefying to me that so many people are discussing the prime location of bin Laden’s compound and wondering aloud how he was able to hide in plain sight without Pakistan leaders knowing his whereabouts.

Please….. I’m not a military expert, but my belief for years was that he was in Pakistan and not in a little hovel in them thar rugged hills. And if anyone believes Pakistan knew nothing about it….well… Cough. Eye-roll.

Call it intuition or simple logic, but requiring dialysis comes with regular access to technology and easy means of transporting equipment and supplies. Despite the primitive image bin Laden, et al, portrayed, this was a man well-versed in Western ways and not at all shy about exploiting his knowledge and using modern medicine. Living in a cave was not practical for his purposes. Did I think he would be living near the Pakistan version of West Point? Or close to a golf course? No. But living in “civilized” conditions? Yes.

On America’s new conspiracy menu is now the question our military and government leaders must ask and investigate. Did Pakistan knowingly harbor bin Laden? If so, what do we do? Such is the delicate position our leaders must now evaluate. Can we afford (on any level) a confrontation with a nuke-holding country? Do we remain in Afghanistan to keep a close eye on Pakistan?

How many virgins can dance on the head of a Bin?

  1. Obviously, you haven't got the news yet, that it was Bush's policies, and dare I say it?? WATER BOARDING that led directly to the capture. Obama didn't do a damn thing, but what he was supposed to do as Commander in Chief. Approve the mission. Right, he's such a military mastermind.
