Have you heard that your astrological sign may not be accurate? Based on the fact that earth “wobbles”- the astronomical alignments of 3,000 years ago are not what they are in our modern age. Earlier in the week “astronomers” sent a belated Happy New Year round of fireworks into the air to inform many that “You aren’t who you thought you were.” Such startling news is yet another shockwave rippling throughout the world to remind the human race how vulnerable we are to forces beyond our control.
Is nothing sacred? No wonder the world is having a nervous breakdown. Everything we thought we knew is now challenged, debunked, or contradictory. Odd to read and hear how this latest news has thrown so many people into a tizzy; most insisting that their astrological sign is absolutely who they are and nothing will change their world of identity with what their sign has spelled-out to them all of their lives concerning who they are and what their paths might be for the present and future.
I’m one of the few, it seems, whose sign remains the same. Thank God, because I’ve been using the quirks of my sign as an excuse for years to explain why I am who I am. What on earth would I do had I been one of the many who now face a looming identity crisis?
In truth, I completely understand the shock and chagrin of those who have been told they aren’t what they supposedly seemed to be on an astrological chart. In thinking about the personality traits of many friends who have been tagged as “perfect” for their once-labeled sign, I must concur.
Too many Gemini friends, for example, simply don’t fall into what a classic Taurus is supposed to be, which is now what many Gemini’s have been informed they are. In fact, for years, I’ve been able to correctly identify people’s signs with 75% accuracy based not only on the knowledge and research of each sign, but through observance of people who absolutely must have been separated at birth because the personalities and habits I noticed were/are so incredibly identical and predictable to their designated sign.
So what does this shift in our current planetary alignment vis a' vis Astrology actually mean? Not much to those who have negated this ancient belief. (Ironically, most of those I have known who have refused to accept Astrology as a legitimate Science - and have laughed at any significance to them as having traits of their “sign” - have all been of the same “sign.” Hint: it’s one of the Earth-based alignments.)
Is there truth in our galaxy that an alignment of planets (a “Constellation’) actually influence a person’s inner and outer Self due to an infusion of energy waves emanating from that particular planetary alignment at the time one slipped into the earthly plane?
I believe it to be so. Indeed, the Moon influences our sea tides. At least, that’s what Science has proven unless you adhere to what the ever-charming Mr. Bull O’Really recently debated with an interviewee on his TV program: that it’s “God” who moves the tides, not the gravitational force of the Moon interacting with planet Earth. I mean, he does have a point. A creative energy begat all there is. And, naturally, “all there is” involves the rotation of planets within the solar system that was created by something or someone with powers far above mere humans…who some call “God.”
However, unless you are one who refuses to accept fact, Science (in one way or another) and observation, have proven that the Earth is round, not flat, and that all of the planets we know of are also round, spin, stay in their rotations due to a combination of energy fields, and many more equations than I care to delve into at the moment, you must see how it is extremely possible for planets to exude frequencies which would effect all living things on this earth.
Astrology is a complex series of many influences where no one person of the same “sign” will be exactly like another. The fascinating aspect to the issue is, as mentioned earlier, how the traits of a sign will manifest in each individual in such a way as to be a near mirror image of what had been written ages ago regarding personality, physical, and emotional traits. Critics have suggested that those who hold firm to the belief in how they are what their sign has told them they are have simply been brainwashed into those particular behaviors.
Such a critique could be true with a few. However, how is it that physical ailments attributed to each sign more often than not prove to be correct? No one told me as a child what area of my body was susceptible to harm and weakness because I am a particular sign, although I later learned those very locations that troubled me were my sign’s vulnerable areas. Explain that.
As it is, I’m not freaking out. Had I been among those whose sign had changed, it would make some sense to me, partially because who I would “now” be is a sign very prominent in other areas of my chart. Had it been going in the opposite direction, it would continue to make sense, as I also have numerous planets in my chart in that sign. I’m flexible that way. But then, that’s actually the gist of my sign.
So, who am I really? A combination of all of the signs? Well, again, that’s another trait of my sign. And what would that sign be, one might ask? Why am I being so mysterious about it? Gee, I’m not sure, but it’s also a trait of my sign to be so vague and secretive. And I’ve been this way all of my life before I ever picked-up a book on astrology.
Good luck to all of you who are spinning in a whirl over the latest discovery that what seemed to be “set in stone” may be no more than an etching on ash waiting to blow into space as the human race spins onward into newer discoveries every other week.
We are living in an age of phenomenal discoveries. Our safety nets may end up showing worn-out holes and tattered stitching's on the verge of collapse. Surely there must be a few things we can count on to follow and believe, such as what to eat and not to eat for better health, right? Err, perhaps not…..
One day there is a new report on eggs regarding the cholesterol factor. It’s okay to have eggs, they say. The cholesterol is “good” cholesterol. A week later, “No!” another report claims, “don’t eat the yellow part, it’s unhealthy and full of bad cholesterol.”
Ladies, according to cardiac specialists, you can drink two glasses of red wine a day to decrease your risk of heart disease. Enjoy! Oh, not so? The test was for men only? Women should only have one glass of white wine every few days. No? No wine at all as it will increase the sugar levels and contribute to Diabetes? Okay. That makes sense. Whoa. What? Women with or without a Diabetes risk (or with Type 2) should go back on red wine and have a little cheese on the side and all will be well. No harm in a little cholesterol-tinged cheese, as long as you’re on Lipitor or another medication. Oh, no? Can’t have wine with the meds?
Oh c’mon, world! I’m reeling from your incessant contradictions. My life feels so unstable now. The helpless feeling of not knowing what to think or believe or eat is triggering an anxiety attack. Maybe I should blow into a brown bag like we’re told to do under such circumstances. Hmmm. That didn’t work. I just feel more light-headed. Okay, I’ll have a little “nerve” pill, then. It’ll calm me down. Oh…..that sort of thing is addictive, is it? Oh dear, yet another problem people of my astrological sign have to deal with: addiction.
Wonder if I’d worry about all of this if I wasn’t prone to worry……
Excellent post!
