Who Deserves a Flog Today?

Well, well, well. The Flogging Whip is somewhat happy today! There is silence in the neighbourhood at last – however, not because a neighbour didn't try to interrupt the potential quietude with allowing construction workers to work not only yesterday, but had them back today for a "clean-up".  Due to direct complaints from this home and others, the work has ceased and now we have peace. For a few more hours, at least.

What The Whip is flailing-around about is that it's SUNDAY – and WTF was the usually polite and considerate neighbour thinking to allow workers up here again to run motors, sanders, sawing, etc., to continue two weekend days straight? Well, it appears that he and his wife are not home! So let the neighbours eat it, shall we say with tremendous non-class!

Yes, it's another Personal Post again rather than flogging politicians or celebrities. But, in dealing with constant noise issues in one's surrounding environment when one works from home and lives in a spot which amplifies all sounds, it becomes an almost obsession to fume over or grit one's teeth about while sallying-forth to attempt to rise above the clamor. Taking a walk or leaving the house for a few hours is merely a band-aid when work noise lasts a full 6-8 hours almost without a break. And tomorrow, I loathe to write, will be yet Another Extreme Noise Day up in these here hills! Yes. More! This time The Whip will have to whip itself as a major brush clearing and tree trimming and weed-pulling and ground-clearing will be happening on its own turf!

We are a busy and noisy bunch in this little area, aren't we? Industrious home-renovators, house Up-Keepers…yep, we're all to blame. However once more, this homestead will not ask or allow any construction to occur on weekends for the consideration of others as well as the desire to have two days of No Extraneous Drama before the "work week" begins.

Consideration for others is a priority in this home. Except when I walk outside and scream into the phone after hearing unsettling news – such as learning on Friday that thousands of people, including me, will not be able to watch our favourite Showtime or CBS programs due to the increasingly epic clash between Time Warner Cable and CBS. "Dexter" is and has been one of my Fav Shows! Unless I go out to someone else's home later tonight, and possibly next Sunday night, and/or as long as the Standoff At The TV Corral goes on, I'll miss the remainder of the Final Season of the show. The complaints are all over The Web for this one reason alone, and will be (and already is for many) The Final Straw for Time Warner Cable Customers. Already AT&T is gaining new business.

Before I go, having bored all of you beyond words, I'm sure, you may find THIS BLOG interesting regarding the attitude and feelings of many who have lost (temporarily) our Sunday Escape.

Yeah. I know. We are Spoiled Whining Americans! So what else is new?

Have a Great, Fun and, if you need it, QUIET Sunday!
