Cain's Private 'I Don't Know'

Imagine this: You've been away from home on a long business trip and lately your spouse/partner has been hearing a lot of rumours about your past and present philandering. You two have been through this crisis before, but now it's affecting your career and seriously jeopardizing your marriage/commitment.

The rumours are growing louder and your SO can no longer support your public and personal denials of being a douche. And you may have to quit your job and you have to go back home and talk it out with your mate before you can make a decision - again.

What an uncomfortable position to be in. It is Spousal Squirm Time.

That's what's going on with Herman Cain. I don't think I'd want to be him right now facing what has to be a rather steaming, more-than-just-pissed-off spouse. With all of his charm and BS way with words, the once defiant GOP Prez "hopeful" had to have tucked his cajones in a safe place and ducked when he walked through his front door yesterday.

It's highly unlikely that he can continue to use an innocent, shrugging, "I don't know" answer when asked by his wife one more time why women are leaping out of the shadows to accuse him of inappropriate sexual advances, as well as another woman announcing a 13 year association which contained a sexual affair throughout most of those years.

Oh yes, indeed. I've seen his wife, I've heard her speak, and although she may appear a bit too gullible with regard to her husband's extramarital proclivities, she isn't someone I would care to cross. She surely can sting quite eloquently with a series of a few classic choice words.

I would be surprised if Mr. Cain was able to get a few words in after "Let me explain..." After all, he had to face a wife who knew nothing about the woman he had been talking to, texting-to, and, at the very least, providing a substantial amount of money to, for 13 years! Now, get out of this one, sir. I don't think so.

The man may be able to talk his way around an out-of-control merry-go-round and sound authoritative, intelligent and "real" - but I doubt he can win this latest battle on the home front.

Expect an announcement shortly of the end of his campaign.

I tend to agree with the following article: Goodbye Mr. Groper

Have a lovely Saturday!

UPDATE NOTE: Within an hour after post time, Mr. Cain "suspended" his campaign - wife by his side. Sorta.
