How's Your Sex Life Compared To Your IQ?

In the last two days Conservatives in the U.S. have been the focus of two interesting articles. One tells of the supposed "Low IQ" of those who are full of prejudice and other narrow beliefs (Read Here), with the second offering based on an "independent" study/survey about Conservatives having  more orgasms than Democrats (Here).

Yee-hah! Or would it be Hah-Yee-Oh-Sure! Actually, I'm not surprised that a study/survey based on answers from Match.com, notorious for weeding-out anyone who isn't heterosexual or somewhat wealthy, financially stable, "perfect", would have members who would anonymously agree to brag it up on the sex end of things. After all, if Conservatives have a Low IQ, per the other study, then just the idea of sex would send most of the repressed masses into an orgasm.

However, such a flippant below-the-belt snark has to be taken with that "grain of salt" we all pour over anything that doesn't have enough zing for our spicy minds. And, as a Democrat, my mind is spicy, indeed, although, according to the Match.com "Independent" study, Dem's have more sex but enjoy/orgasm less, while Conservatives/GOPer's, have less sex but frequent orgasms.

Well, Gee! That would make sense no matter who is in what political party: If you're not having ice cream every day, the moment your fav frosty creamy decadent dessert or snack hits you in the palette once or twice a month, you're bound to have an orgiastic experience from the novelty of it all. What happens in moderation for some can be the tidal wave of enormous appreciation when it's not always on your daily menu.

Now, when it involves the "Low IQ" news... How can I say what I honestly believe without infuriating Conservative associates? In truth, the findings make sense to me. Why? Because I do not believe anyone with a full-functioning brain can be so desperately rigid about anything that doesn't look like "them," sound like "them," and believe in almost everything narrow - like "them."

Out of cultural intolerance everywhere in the world comes the flat-footed, puffy big fists of podium pounding against minorities, and without an honest deep-seated prejudice against those who are not of the same religion or culture, politics plays into the minds of the sheep-like mentality of those who would rather follow than dig further into their brains to find a tolerant, accepting feeling and attitude toward others. You know, like Jesus taught in the New Testament. The supposed guiding light of forgiveness, altruism and sacrifice to overcome petty squabbling, along with the disgust of Greed, the very "Sin" our country has been running-on for too many decades...primarily fueled by Republican-based agendas.

Oh, but here go I again with the comparisons and opinions between one political party to another when most in America have finally realized that although there are differences between the two of a serious and often sincere intent, politics is not really where the problem exists. Beyond the lure of financial gains for Conservatives under a Conservative administration and unfair tax laws, the religious/moral/social elements are at the core of what is dividing America these days.

And whether a "Low IQ" is to blame or not for rigid, black and white thinking, the race baiting, anti-gay, anti-anything "progressive" ideology is fundamentally where the ultimate battle lines are being drawn these days. It is said that in an historical context, what we are experiencing in America is not unusual; there is always a backlash against change, be it "Progressive" or "Conservative" to create an odd balance in the human-cultural growth cycle.

What many did not expect, however; was that the children of the "Hippie" generation would turn out to be such materialistic and pious pontificaters such as Rick Santorum, born in 1964. Apparently the music piped-through his nursery was more along the lines of The Monkees rather than The Beatles or Bob Dylan.

Oh well. I've done the best I can today after having been up since Dawn to send off a houseful of overnight guests who are now on their way to a Fine Food & Wine Festival out of town. Me? I'm soon off for a "Girlie" afternoon of various forms of beauty treatments with a friend so that I can walk into a party tonight feeling like a Conservative on the Make.

Enjoy your Friday!
