Good Gracious All Mighty Lord of the Kingdom! Another Man Of Faith has been caught doing the dirty deed! This time, however, the sin was perpetuated with a woman – not only a female of legal age, but a Prostitute, no less!
To add insult to the Catholic Religion's already sullied reputation of Sex and Secrets, the Priest Of Naughty Deeds was discovered with his sex partner in a Cemetery! Ironic, or what? Forget the hypocrisy of 1) HAVING SEX; 2) HAVING SEX WITH A WAYWARD WOMAN. I have reasonable (I believe) compassionate feelings for anyone who takes a vow of celibacy and cannot, after time has passed, do anything other than act on Natural Human urges with Consenting Adults; thus I will almost give the guy a pass.
Regardless, there are questions and postulations to delve into concerning The Repression Of Sex in general that the most recent story has awakened within my apparently sexual-scandal focused mind once again. Before delving into the entire issue of Sex, you may want to check out THIS MESS for details on the above.
Let's get down to Real Basics about sex. As with anything Humans are told is Not Good To Do Unless (fill in the blank) happens, a switch goes on within the brain relating the message of Forbidden Things to file away for Moral Standards and/or to Appease Society/Community/Parents//Relatives by adhering to the constraints Humans have followed ever since Mankind began to scribble words on parchment scrolls or stone or other materials that somehow led The Flocks to become intimidated, frightened, or rebellious about/over The Rules within that focused on sex in a negative way. So, what do we end up with thousands of years later? People with mis-firing programmed brains about themselves when they feel sexual and have guilt and shame surrounding what their body is telling them to do.
C'mon! Feeling sexual is just another bodily function all Living Beings experience. Granted, research may not be advanced enough to know the precise "feelings" and sensations various insects or animals experience prior to mating, but we do know it is a Universal Urge – often beyond the Simple Force of procreation instincts. Clamping down on that urge is akin to withholding a sneeze or denying our bodies the need to have food or deal with other "normal" bodily functions. Simply put, it's unhealthy: ergo, an unhealthy viewpoint of Self and Others breeds extremely unhealthy behaviour in the overview.
Religion is usually the culprit – despite all of the incest and polygamy and mixed messages The Bible in particular conveys as The Norm to ensure the continuation of a Tribe's Bloodline so that humans would not become extinct. At least, that's the simple, easier explanation without droning into a scholarly tone, citing specific passages in the Bible, Torah, Koran, and so on where the contradictions about The Rules Of Sex are rife. In fact, take a look at the latest article about Christians and their continuing cherry-picking and other misguided take-always from the Mighty Tome! Here, read what I call THE BIBLE'S BIG BELCH .
Puritanical Religious Persons play coy and dodgy over some of the Bible Words (although sex is not mentioned in the link above), don't they? By reading the Bible Literally, we can trace the Current Sexual Messes back to Adam & Eve's Obvious Fable when they began hiding their Private Parts from each other, thus creating the First Wave Of Sexual Shame. Without that kick-off, I doubt that we would have so much sexual repression in the world that often turns to violence, suicide, madness, thoughtless, careless behaviour and a plethora of poor judgment by otherwise seemingly "decent" people.
Shame of sexual feeling is taught – not innate. It IS that simple. What is not is how to turn it around so that sneaking around to have sex with anyone in a graveyard is borne out of a daredevil, twisted sense of fun between couples rather than a creepy rendezvous between a man who has taken a vow of chastity in the name of The Lord and a Paid Vagina for some poor old sot going nuts over his Rebellious Peen wherein he ends-up ensuring shame and ridicule.
More to come on this subject in the future. Until then, thanks for stopping by!
