Who Deserves A Flog Today?

The United States' sloppy Drone use wherever they drone-on in the world to "keep the peace" too often results in deaths of innocent people, as well as general structural destruction of land and, well, structures of every kind. Why does anyone ever question why other countries hate our guts, to put it delicately. Other people don't like guests kicking the coffee table until it breaks; dropping buttery popcorn onto fine upholstery, staining the cloth beyond repair; stomping into a home with dirty boots staining a newly cleaned carpet. The Sloppy Guest From Hell. Well, that is precisely what the U.S. has become over time: the rude, crude, impolite, dirty guest who leaves a whirlwind of chaos behind when they finally decide it's time to move on to their next target. Pakistan is more than a tad perturbed with the USA of late. Who can blame them - whether or not you agree with Pakistan's political and military policies?

  1. My Dear Shauna....Once again, your limited news sources, allow you to jump to conclusions, and arrive at an ill advised decision while you slam this great and wonderful country.
Talaban bases are set up right next to Pakistan bases. They routinely fire across the border at us and NATO forces. The rebuttal, is that we were responding to being fired upon. But, rather than wait for the results of an investigation, the United States and NATO are automatically in the wrong.
By the way, your illustrious leader, Obama, has used more drone strikes than anybody in history. I guess that alone, is enough to justify that Nobel Peace Prize, isn't it? John

  3. Hi John and Anon. Yes, Obama has def used the drone more than anyone else. It's a "clean" way to have a war - less on-the-ground casualties. Problem is, the US is becoming sloppy in its use. And, there s never a "clean war."

Re: Living in Canada. Probably. Pretty. Quiet. One part of my heritage is Canadian. Must be in my blood to dislike constant conflict.

In general: If anyone thinks criticizing the US is anti-American, then where did Free Speech go? In addition, it's deluded to believe that the US has not gained so many true enemies based on our constant interference/aid in matters elsewhere that go beyond defending our country from harm. No matter who is running the country.

I'm sure Americans wouldn't be pleased if other countries began inserting their beliefs and military presence on our soil.

That's the way I see it...in brief terms.

Love the US, but it's time for many to take off the blinders.

  4. It just seems to me, that since Obama took office, and went on his "world apology tour," it's been about nothing other than bashing the United States. Sure, we've made a LOT OF MISTAKES!!! But we're still the greatest nation on this earth. When all the dissing is going on, it's put on the back burner all of the GOOD we've done in this world. Nobody answers the call in times of crises, earthquakes, nuke meltdowns, or other disasters like the good old U.S.A. For God's sake, look at the billions we've dumped just into Africa alone, for their aides epidemic. I would just like to see us get credit every now and then for the good that we do, rather than the constant belittling and bashing. John

  5. That's part of the problem, John. The US DOES do a great job when aiding other countries and does a great deal of good. It seems, however, to be moving off the US shores more and more, leaving its own people behind screaming in the floods, rain and sometimes, fires.

Why do we spend so much on making sure other countries' children are fed when our very own are starving as well? Our priorities need to return to the people of the US if we're ever going to be able to help others in the future.
