Bubba/Elvis/Bill Clinton was in The House last night. On stage. In his element. The Center Of Attention as well as the Mind That Knows How To Preach and Teach in one long 'Fell Swoop'; His Purpose For Living.
The DNC stage was full of his Leo-based Presence for a precise 48 minutes. Approx. one half hour longer than planned, but then, what did the networks expect? The man is known to go on and on. In this case, most of his On And On's were necessary, worthwhile, and, if anyone who needed reminding of what the Obama administration has done "right" and has faced, overcome, and still must deal with and why, there was no one better to explain what is at stake than a former president who was fortunate enough to Lead during a time of Quiet Greed and Fair And Balanced Taxes. And, he nailed it! Long speech, as mentioned above, but that is a "per usual" from a man whose ego is bigger than Arkansas and Texas combined, yet is one of the more natural, savvy politicians of modern age.
For reasons I have not yet understood, no one else has been able to explain what in the world Obama has been doing the past four years in a positive way despite so many obstacles. I know that the usual mouthpieces, defenders, of Obama show up on various News Programs and try to articulate everything Mr. Clinton explained so easily, in plain language. But where is the passion from David Axelrod, for example? I doubt that it is a lack of faith in the president; I believe it has been a tendency for the Democrats to attempt to rise above their opposition and speak too softly while carrying a large stick they know not how to use.
The Democrats are immensely fortunate to have a Former President such as Bill Clinton With That Gleam In His Eyes and The Brain That Never Sleeps on their side. He is brilliant. He hogs the spotlight a bit too much, but he manages to make the often complicated, muddled messages of politics clear to the ears of those who will listen.
And that is why I loved his speech. How hard can it be to debunk, step-by-step, the lies the GOP have been plastering all over the airwaves and in their speeches about the Obama presidency when it is AS CLEAR AS A CLOUDLESS DAY IN CALIFORNIA that very little could be done in the last four years when the opposition party's main priority is to DO NOTHING to support even the most benign Laws the president has tried to create.
I hope The Voices of the convention will take the wisdom of Mr. Clinton's ability to speak to people in words they can truly comprehend and ram the message of Fairness, Forward Movement, and exactly who are to blame for why the economy is still struggling and Preach It everywhere before the elections, because, it makes no sense at all to me that this presidential race should be as close as it seems to be in the polls. Voting Republican is one thing; voting for liars with hidden taxes and "we won't tell you" agendas is another.
One more night and the convention cycle will be over. I hope Obama will provide the inspiration needed to re-confirm to The Undecided's that not only is it important to keep him in office, but equally vital to the future of this country to change the political landscape of The House and Senate. We need people in office who are willing to cooperate, as a wise man just said last evening. Cooperation, my friends, is the key to Democracy.
And that's all she wrote on this day in September, 2012.

Go to yahoo, and look at the fact check article on his speech. Seems he stretched the truth on much of what he had to say. But, what do you expect from a man who stood and lied to congress and the American people, and said "I did not have sex with that woman?" And as far as him being a big Obama fan, B.S. All he is doing is paving the way for Hilary in 2016. Because he knows if the Republicans take over, it's all over. Him an Obama fan? Don't forget what he said to Ted Kennedy four years ago: "A few years ago, he would be carrying our luggage." John

ReplyDeleteJohn, I checked. Now, please read the above article. It's fair. Bloomberg confirmed the numbers the DNC have backed.
As far as his lies on the stupid "affair." Of course he was going to lie. None of us liked it, but I'd rather have someone lie about a salacious sexual escapade than going to wars that aren't necessary, and lying about taxes....you know, things that actually affect our American Daily Lives and who said what and when.
And, natch, he's wants Obama in whether he likes him or not. People do change, you know. I believe the comment to Kennedy was taken out of context.
Yep. He is paving the way for H. in 2016. Nothing wrong with that. You know how it goes...Politics. That's how the game is played.
Read the HP article. Very interesting, but I'm still not convinced.
ReplyDeleteIn reality, I don't give a rat's ass who Clinton screwed, or how many cigars he wore out. I was commenting on his honesty and integrity. If a man will stand there and lie to Congress and the American people, he's already proved his trustworthiness. (or lace of it) Should be a fun couple of months coming up. :) XOXOXO John
